China can't rule out swine flu spread
China's Health Minister Chen Zhu said Thursday (April 30) he can't rule out the spread of swine flu to China, but added the country is confident it can control the spread of the virus after its experience with bird flu and SARS.
Over the past few years, China has built up sufficient reserves of Tamiflu, which experts say is effective against swine flu, Chen said at a press conference on swine flu.
Chen also said the world is much more able to handle public health emergencies than it was during the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome outbreak.
