Brazil gov't says too early to see trade gains from swine flu

Brazil's Minister of Agriculture said Wednesday that it is too early to see any commercial advantages for Brazil's pork exports as a result of the global swine flu outbreak.

"It's too early to respond now about whether this can be of commercial advantage for Brazil," local news service Estado reported Reinhold Stephanes, Brazil's Minister of Agriculture, as saying.

Stephanes downplayed rumours about possible embargoes against Brazilian pork exports, Estado reported.

"There's nothing definite," he said.
