Belarus to resow over 8% of winter grain sowings

Belarus plans to resow over 8% of winter grains and nearly 27% of winter rapeseed sowing areas, declared the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus.

According to the operative data, agrarians plan to resow grains throughout nearly 111,000 hectares, winter rapeseed throughout nearly 109, 000 hectares, declared representatives of the Ministry.

According to the Ministry, all oblasts of Belarus, except of Vitebsk oblast, have already completed the mass sowing campaign of early spring and leguminous plants.

As of April 27, 2010, agricultural enterprises of the Republic of Belarus sowed early spring crops throughout 991,000 hectares, or 91% of the planned land areas.

Agricultural organisations of Belarus also provide the mass sowing campaign of flaxseed, sugar beet and corn. As of April 27, 2010, agrarians of Belarus provided the mass spring sowing campaign throughout 1.32 million hectares, or 55% of the planned areas.
