No impact on India pork consumption due to swine flu
India's pork consumption is unlikely to be impacted by the recent outbreak of swine flu in Mexico and the US, a senior industry official said Tuesday (April 28).
"I don't see any impact as the local consumption is very low," said P.G. Phalke, a consultant with CLFMA, a livestock industry association.
Phalke said the country doesn't import any pork products.
No cases of swine flu have been detected in India so far, the Health Ministry said Monday, but warned travellers from visiting seven countries affected by the disease.
