Turkey To Buy 75,000 MT Feed Barley
The Turkish Grain State Agency, or TMO, has issued a tender to buy 75,000 metric tons of feed barley, traders said Wednesday.
The tender is open for bids Wednesday and will be finalized Thursday. The shipment period is from May 7-20.
Traders said European Union barley was unlikely to be competitive against Black Sea or Australian origins.
Freight rates for long-haul trips have come down more strongly than rates for shorter-haul voyages, improving competitiveness especially for Australia, traders said.
At the TMO's last tender on March 5, the agency bought 75,000 tons of feed barley at $174.82-$177.49/ton.
