Challenge to New Zealand beef in Asia

 

 

Since the discovery of mad cow disease in the US there has been an increased demand for New Zealand beef in Asia because of its clean safety record and that no cases of the disease have been discovered in the country so far.

 

But this demand for NZ beef could change as Taiwan opens its borders to US beef on April 16, with other importers such as Japan and Korea likely to follow suit.
