According to Dr. Sugumar, currently like other raw materials such as protein, nutritionists are facing a lot of challenges with lipids and have difficulties in finding precise feed formulae.

 

He explained: "They face difficulties in determining the quality and nutritional value of fat sources, and the high variability of sources also pose a problem. LYSOFORTE^® Liquid helps nutritionists make more precise feed formulation, improves the energy value of oil and as well as of feed, reduces nutrient variation, and more importantly, improves the digestibility of oils with low digestibility, so much so that they equal to or even exceed that of highly digestible oils. For example, we can tell our customers that the matrix value of LYSOFORTE^® Liquid is e.g. 80 to 100 Kcal/kg feed, depending on the type of fat. In short, the nutritionist can now reformulate the diet using a higher matrix value to improve animal performance."

 

From our customers' feedback during the "LYSOFORTE^® Revolution 2017" event that Kemin held prior to VIV Asia, we see that there is demand for LYSOFORTE^® Liquid. For these customers, they are keen on getting the benefits of the liquid form and taking their feed mill to the next level. Together with the new product, we are also providing them the product application equipment that is specifically designed based on their existing feed mill, and the process is entirely automated for their convenience."

 

 

Dr. Bieber further clarified: "As the needs of customers in Asia are particularly diverse, we have to tailor make the right application equipment, for example, to directly dose LYSOFORTE^® Liquid into the oil stream or batch tank, depending on the customers' needs.

 

Just the same as it is for our customers, reducing the overall cost of feed is Kemin's overall target, and we can demonstrate ROI which is commercially very interesting for the customers."

 

Dr. Bieber also stressed that LYSOFORTE^® Liquid is just one product embedded in an entire product portfolio. "We provide a whole series of extras to our customers. We continue to supply support data and offer the customers a laboratory service for evaluating the quality of their fats and oils".

 

Dr. Sugumar added: "Not all oils and fats are created equal, and we help our customers discover their real nutritional value. The customers can send their feed samples to us, and we have an FT-NIR analytical service to scan fatty acids in the samples to calculate their energy value. Following which, we give them recommendations on which products to use."

 

Within Asia Pacific, LYSOFORTE^® Liquid has been made available in countries including India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand. Registration in Vietnam is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2017.
