South Korean cattle's FMD test results turn negative
At a cattle farm in Mungyeong, 190 kilometres southeast of Seoul, results of a close examination on a suspected case of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD)turned negative, local media reported Thursday (Apr 26).
The results of the examination involving one of 17 cattle at the farm have come back negative, according to news agency.
The Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries conducted the examination after the cow showed signs of possible foot-and-mouth infection on Wednesday (Apr 25).
South Korea killed more than three million cattle and pigs because of the outbreak of the contagious disease last winter, which was the fifth of the kind since 2000 and the most devastating.
