Japan beef demand up on Golden Week holidays
Trading of imported beef in Japan's wholesale market, particularly for barbeque and grilling items, has increased as the Golden Week approaches.
The Golden Week is a series of public holidays taking place from April 29 to May 6.
Demand for Japanese wagyu is also improving, while interest in middle-range items such as Japanese F1 and dairy beef was reportedly low.
