US company recalls about 26,270 pounds of catfish products imported from China
Super World Trading Inc., which is based in Brooklyn, New York, the United States, has recalled approximately 26,270 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) imported Siluriformes (catfish) products.
The products were imported from China, a country ineligible to export processed Siluriformes products to the US, according to the United States Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The problem was discovered during a routine FSIS surveillance activity of imported products. China is eligible to export raw Siluriformes products to the US, but not processed or RTE Siluriformes products.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
