Russia bans poultry imports from Brazilian and US plant
Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight has temporarily banned imports from two poultry processing plants, in Brazil and in the US, ITAR-TASS news agency reported.
The food safety watchdog found salmonella bacteria in ground chicken supplied from Brazil's Alimentos SIF-2172 plant and the US's P-3 plant, said Alexei Alekseyenko, spokesman for the regulator.
