Rostov, Russia, delivers more than 100 tonnes of poultry meat to four countries

Russia's Rostov region has successfully shipped over 100 tonnes of poultry meat to four countries, marking a notable achievement for local producers.

This export initiative, which concluded on April 11, saw four distinct batches of poultry meat sent to Benin, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Hong Kong (China).

The shipments included 27 tonnes to Benin, 25 tonnes to Saudi Arabia, another 27 tonnes to the UAE, and 25 tonnes to Hong Kong, totaling 104 tonnes of poultry meat. This export not only highlights the growing demand for high-quality poultry products in international markets but also underscores the Rostov region's capacity to meet such demands.

According to the regional department of Rosselkhoznadzor, the region's poultry meat has been recognised as safe in veterinary and sanitary terms, fully complying with the stringent requirements set forth by the importing countries. The quality and safety of the poultry were confirmed through rigorous laboratory tests, ensuring that consumers in these countries receive products that meet high health standards.

Moreover, monitoring data from the Federal State Information System (FGIS) Mercury revealed no violations regarding the legality of the origin of the exported products. This compliance is crucial, as it assures importing nations of the integrity and traceability of the food supply chain.

The permit for export was issued by Rosselkhoznadzor through its automated system, Argus, which facilitates the monitoring and regulation of agricultural exports. This system plays a vital role in maintaining the standards required for international trade, ensuring that all exported products are both safe and legally sourced.

This recent export achievement is expected to pave the way for future shipments, as the Rostov region aims to strengthen its position as a key player in the poultry market. With ongoing investments in agricultural technology and production practices, local producers are optimistic about their ability to meet growing international demand.
