Methionine prices soft as supply exceeds demand in China

Prices of methionine remained flat during the week ending April 25.

Methionine demand was flat as poultry feed producers limited purchases. Nonetheless, with profitability low, producers and distributors were reluctant to cut prices further.

Price quotes of imported dl-methionine were unchanged in the range of RMB22.30-23/kg.

Methionine market is set to remain weak with supplies plentiful and demand slow.
