During the current marketing year (July 2012-July 2013), Ukraine exported 20.5 million tonnes of grain which is 18.6 % more than in the preceding agricultural year.
This is according to the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food on Tuesday (Apr 16).
According to the ministry, the republic delivered to the foreign markets 6.46 million tonnes of wheat, including 5.56 million tonnes of milling wheat, as well as 11.6 million tonnes of corn and 2.04 million tonnes of barley.
Herein, the agricultural companies of Ukraine exported 1.05 million tonnes of grain, including 170,000 tonnes of wheat, 830,000 tonnes of corn and 6,200 tonnes of barley, the press service said.
Earlier, Ukraine declared its plans to export 24.6 million tonnes of grain in the current marketing year of 2012-13, the ministry's press service reaffirmed.
The EU, Egypt and Saudi Arabia are the major sales market for Ukraine produced grain crops.
