Denmark's research shows herbs aid cows bring out healthier milk
Dairy cows whose diet includes natural herbs instead of grass and clover produce milk with twice as high levels of omega six fatty acids and lower levels of saturated fatty acids as shown by the new research of Denmark.
Based on this research, Aarhus University, AgroTech, Thise Mejeri and three organic milk producers are to cooperate to find out what mechanisms in the metabolism of cows that cause this change.
Chikory, plantain, bird's-foot trefoil, caraway, lucerne and chervil were among the eight herbs that were given to the cows.
