Ukraine's February cattle population up 4.7%

 

 

As compared to January, Ukraine's cattle population rose by 4.7% or 212,000 head in February to 4,714,600 head as of March 1, 2012, the State Statistics Service has informed Ukrainian News.

 

Cattle population rose by 6.4% or 191,800 head at private farms, and by 1.3% or 20,200 head at specialised farms.

 

In February, cow population went up by 0.5% or 11,800 head, and as of March 1, 2012, made up 2,595,200 head.

 

The cattle population dropped by 0.8% or 39,400 head, compared to March 1, 2011.

 

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in January, cattle population rose by 1.7% or 76,800 head, compared to December, to 4,502,600 head as of February 1, 2012.

 

In January, cow population went up by 0.05% or 1,200 head, and as of March 1, 2012, made up 2,583,400 head.
