China's March soy imports show decrease

 

 

China imported about 3.51 million tonnes of soy in March 2010, an on-year decrease of 12.44%, with an average price of US$592.96 per tonne, according to the General administration of Customs (GAC).

 

Of the total, about 3.44 million tonnes were imported from the US. The rest were imported from Brazil and Canada. From January to March, the nation imported a total of about 10.96 million tonnes of soy, representing an on-year decrease of 0.66%.

 

Last month, it also imported 54,900 tonnes of rapeseed, down 542,900 tonnes from a year earlier, with an average price of USD663.4 per tonne. In the first quarter of this year, it imported a total of 179,300 tonnes of rapeseed, diving 49.94% from the previous year.
