China's milk prices in top cow breeding areas rise slightly

The average price for raw milk in China's six major cow breeding areas has slightly increased by 0.8 percent on-month to RMB2.93 (US$0.42) per kilogramme in March.

The six cow rearing provinces are Beijing and Tianjin Municipalities, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Hebei, Shanxi and Heilongjiang.

With a 0.8 percent increase only, China's Ministry of Agriculture said the rate of increase has slowed down compared to previous months.

The raw milk prices increased specifically in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region as well as in Shanxi and Heilongjiang provinces, but dropped in Beijing and Tianjin municipalities and in Hebei province.
