South Africa's corn stocks down 38 percent on-year

 

 

South Africa's corn stocks in March are down 38 percent, or 878,000 tonnes, from 2.299 million tonnes during the same time last year.

 

Stocks were also down 38 percent on-month to 1.421 million tonnes in March according to data from the South African Grain Information Service. This is the eighth month corn stocks in South Africa has been dropping. .

 

Stocks consisted of 936,000 tonnes of white corn and 485,000 tonnes of yellow corn.

 

Wheat stocks fell by 16 percent, or 228,000 tonnes, to 1.404 million tonnes in March from a revised 1.632 million tonnes in February.

 

However, on a year-on-year basis, wheat stocks are up 7.9 percent, or 103,000 tonnes, from 1.301 million tonnes the same time a year ago.
