Poland reports first ASF case involving domestic pigs

Poland's Chief Veterinary Inspectorate confirmed the first case of African swine fever (ASF) in domestic pigs this year.

The outbreak occurred on April 12 in the province of Lower Silesia, near the border with the Czech Republic, in the municipality of Luban. Sixteen affected pigs were on the farm.

Over 1,000 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar have been reported so far this year.
