Tyson temporarily shuts down beef facility in Pasco, Washington
The company has provisionally closed down the facility to test workers for COVID-19, after closing two pork processing plants recently, reported Reuters.
The Tyson Fresh Meats unit said it is currently working together with local health officials to test its 1,400 workers at its beef facility in Pasco, Washington. This facility produces enough beef to feed four million people daily.
This additional facility closure adds more pressure onto farmers as they struggle to get produce to customers.
According to Tyson, all workers at the Pasco, Washington plant have been told to stay home until test results return. The workers will continue to be compensated.
