Pfizer to present injectable antibiotic in livestock fair
Pfizer Animal Health would be featuring an injectable antibiotic for the prevention and treatment of swine respiratory disease at the British Pig and Poultry Fair on May 13-14, 2008.
The long-acting and single-dose product Draxxin, can now be used to treat groups of pigs when they are most at risk, said the company.
Draxxin is more effective than water or feed medication as sick pigs do not feed normally and so the dose they receive is not predictable, according to Emmeline Randall, product manager of Pfizer.
Pfizer will also feature its other mainline swine products such as the antibiotic Naxcel and the vaccine Stellamune.
