Bird flu spreads in Bangladesh

 

 

Bird flu has spread to six more farms in Bangladesh, despite efforts to curb the disease.

 

The current spate of outbreaks first began at a farm in western Bangladesh on 22 March.

 

Local authorities, with the aid of a UN team, have struggled to investigate and control the disease through culling and the banning of movement of chickens in several areas.

 

About 98,000 chickens had been culled in 38 farms had been culled since the beginning of the current outbreak.
