Canada sees no beef shortages amid COVID-19 challenges

Although prices may go up, the government of Canada is not expecting beef insufficiency despite some challenges related to COVID-19 for the meat packing industry, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Tuesday.

He also told a briefing that "we have heard from Canadian beef producers and associations that the priority will be ensuring Canadian supply before they move to exporting".
