China's HQ Sustainable Maritime to present tilapia products to EU market
The HQ Sustainable Maritime Industries, with operations in Hainan, China, has announced that it would present its tilapia products to the European markets.
The company would present its ACC certified products during the European Seafood Exposition on April 21 to 23.
HQS' tilapia paddy, flavored with Italian spice has been selected as a finalist in the New Product Competition.
Furthermore, the company will present its new organic tilapia product and cold and hot smoked organic tilapia fillet for the first time.
HQS believes that the new value-added products are suited to meet European markets' demand.
In Brussels, HQ will also highlight its fundamental commitment to sustainable aquaculture and healthy toxin-free seafood to feed the world.
HQS tilapia is produced in Hainan Island in China. The island economy has been centered on tourism and food production.
HQS' freshwater tilapia products have no hormones, antibiotics or other toxins and are free of heavy metals associated with ocean-harvested products.
The company said that the product's fresh clean taste is due to the natural farming methods in ponds that are richly oxygenated to prevent algae growth that affects taste.
