Vietnam seafood exports to Germany surge 67 percent
Vietnam's shipments of seafood to Germany surged by 66.6 percent in quantity and 50 percent in export turnover on-year, reaping a total of US$25 million in the first two months of 2008.
Around 7,700 tonnes of seafood was exported to Germany from January to February this year, the Vietnam Trade Information Centre under the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
Vietnam exported key seafood products such as frozen fish, frozen shrimp, frozen cuttle-fish and canned fish and shrimp.
Last year, 139 Vietnamese seafood exporters sent their products to Germany.
Germany considered to be among the biggest seafood export market of Vietnam this year.
