Upcoming marketing company in Kurdistan Region, Iraq, to promote poultry product, help cut production costs

The minister of agriculture of Iraq's Kurdistan Region announced on April 20 that efforts are underway to establish a marketing company to promote poultry products and reduce production costs in support of farmers.
Minister Begard Talabani said that her ministry is "working to establish a big company in the Kurdistan Region for marketing purposes. It will reduce production costs and support the poultry project owners."
Talabani added that the agriculture ministry has submitted a request to the Kurdistan Region's Council of Ministers, as well as the offices of the prime minister and deputy prime minister, seeking authorisation to set up the company. Once approved, the company will collaborate with poultry farmers and project owners to streamline production and distribution.
Talabani also highlighted that "the export of eggs has begun, which is one of the products provided by the [chicken farm] owners," adding that "many other projects are underway" as well.
