UK exports more pork in February

 

 

Data from Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs UK showed the country exported 19,800 tonnes of pork (not including offal) in February 2022, 9% (1,600 tonnes) more year-on-year and 2,000 tonnes more compared to January 2022, the UK Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board reported.

 

Pork export prices were GBP 1.62 (~US$2.11) per kg in February 2022, GBP 0.30 (~US$0.39; GBP 1 = US$1.31) lower year-on-year.

 

UK pork exports to the EU in February were close to three times higher year-on-year at 11,200 tonnes, while exports to China dropped 61% year-on-year to 4,200 tonnes.

 

Total UK pork exports in January and February 2022 was 37,800 tonnes, 30% up compared to the same two months in 2021.

 

The UK imported 71,700 tonnes of pork in February 2022, lower than the previous month but 41% higher year-on-year.
