Ukraine may export 5.743 million tonnes grain in Apr-Jun
In April-June, the remaining three months of the current marketing year, Ukraine is likely to export 5.743 million tonnes of grain, bringing total exports in the 2013-14 marketing year to 33.492 million tonnes, the economic development ministry said.
The ministry said the forecast 5.743 million tonnes of exports in April-June include 1.553 million tonnes of wheat, 3.824 million tonnes of corn, 254,000 tonnes of barley and 46,000 tonnes of rye.
Ukraine exported 27.749 million tonnes of grain in the period July 2013 to March this year, including eight million tonnes of wheat, 17.18 million tonnes of corn and 2.208 million tonnes of barley, the ministry said.
The 33.492 million tonnes forecast for the whole marketing year, include 9.556 million tonnes of wheat, 21 million tonnes of corn and 2.462 million tonnes of barley.
The ministry also said it expects grain stocks in Ukraine at 7.109 million tonnes as of July 1.
According to the agriculture ministry, Ukraine's 2013 grain harvest was over 63 million tonnes in bunker weight, up from 46.2 million tonnes in 2012, when crops were damaged by drought. In the 2012-13 marketing year Ukraine exported about 23 million tonnes of grain.
