Cambodia-BAUER collaboration focuses on animal feed production project

Cambodia, through the country's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, has officially entered into a collaboration with the BAUER Group to develop a large-scale animal feed crop production project.
This initiative, set to cover approximately 600 hectares of agricultural land in Kampong Chhnang province, is expected to commence in the near future and represents a significant step forward for the local agricultural sector.
The foundation for this project was established during a formal signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) held on the morning of March 30. The event was presided over by Secretary General Sor Chetra, who represented Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. The agreement underscores a shared commitment to modernising farming practices and securing the supply chain for the domestic livestock market.
This specific memorandum of understanding focuses on conducting a comprehensive feasibility study for the 600-hectare development in Kampong Chhnang. By assessing the viability of specialised animal feed crops, both the ministry and the BAUER Group aim to enhance productivity and quality, ensuring that Cambodian farmers and livestock producers have access to sustainable and high-quality feed resources.
The partnership aligns with the government's broader strategy to promote diversified agricultural investment and reduce reliance on imported raw materials. As the project moves into its next phase, it is expected to create new economic opportunities within the province and contribute to the overall resilience of Cambodia's food systems.
Through this joint effort, Cambodia continues to prioritise innovation and private sector engagement as key drivers of rural development.
