New York's meat processor plans acquisitions

Bronx, New York-based Diamond Ranch Foods is actively pursuing merger and acquisition candidates as the meat and poultry processor looks to expand.

For the fiscal year that began April 1, Diamond Ranch, a publicly traded company, said it is forecasting double-digit sales growth in each of the next four quarters. Currently the company does about US$2.1 million in sales.

"The company's revenue and earnings outlook for the fiscal year ahead are extremely positive," Diamond Ranch president and CEO, Louis Vucci Jr. said in a news release. "We have streamlined operations, expect to conclude our initial expansion initiatives and are currently involved with some promising potential acquisition candidates, any of which should add significant shareholder value."

Diamond Ranch said it is diversifying its product mix; working with consultants to maximise current growth objectives; planning to ramp up its foodservice business; and expanding its sales force and production capabilities.
