Russian ban on beef and pork from Brazil to be removed

The Russian Agriculture Ministry has lifted the ban on all imports of Brazilian beef and pork except those from certain areas. Even then, only meat from authorised enterprises supervised by Russian experts will be allowed.

The ban was introduced last September after the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease.

The ban on Brazilian poultry was previously lifted on Feb 7 this year.
