Netherlands' export of pig manure increases 8.2% in 2020

 
 

The Netherlands' export of pig manure reached 893,390 tonnes in 2020, a 8.2% increase from 2019, according to Pig333 citing information from Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland.

 

The country's total manure exports was (3,067,917 tonnes), a slight decrease (-0.7%) from the year before.

 

The main destinations for total manure from the Netherlands last year were Germany (1,388,089 tonnes), followed by Belgium (793,699 tonnes) and France (758,663 tonnes). While exports to Germany and France decreased by 7.7% and 0.8%, exports to Belgium increased by 11.8%.

 

Concerning exports of swine manure alone, Belgium was the main destination, with a total of 449,405 tonnes and an increase of 15.8%.

 

On the other hand, exports to Germany decreased by 12.8% to 295,072 tonnes and those to France increased significantly by 48.7% to 144,529 tonnes.
