Black Sea's 2012 grain production to drop 6.2%
Agricultural researcher UkrAgroConsult said that Black Sea region's grain harvest will fall 6.2% this year.
The crop will slide by 11 million tonnes from 2011 to 167 million tonnes, Olena Loshkaryova, an analyst at Kiev-based UkrAgroConsult, said Wednesday (Apr 18) at a conference in the city. The wheat harvest will decline by 13 million tonnes to 85 million tonnes, according to the analyst.
The corn crop will rise four million tonnes to 28 million tonnes and barley harvesting will increase 500,000 tonnes to 27 million tonnes, Loshkaryova said.
