Ukraine will impose grain export duties until 2012
Ukraine's export duties for grains are planned to be active until January 1, 2012.
On March 31, the government draft law #8321 on making of amendments to the Tax Codex of Ukraine and adoption of tariffs of the export duties for several varieties of grains was registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
According to the draft law, the Government offers to approve the following tariffs of the export duties: wheat and meslin-9% of the customs cost, but not lower EUR17/tonne (US$24.2); barley-14%, but not lower EUR23/tonne (US$32.74); corn-12%, but not lower EUR20/tonne (US$28.47).
The Cabinet of Ministers informs the foreign countries that after coming into force of the law, all commodities, mentioned in the law, will be excluded from the regime of free trade with other countries.
It is estimated that the law will come into force on the first day of the month after the month of the official promulgation.
On April 18, the Verkhovna Rada passed the draft law for consideration of the profile Committee.
