China Tryptophan: Further price dip (week ended Apr 15, 2024)

Tepid demand continued to weigh on the prices of tryptophan. Producers cut prices further with supplies abundant amid strong competition.

Over the week, export prices of tryptophan slid to US$8.50/kg.

Transacted prices of local products fell to the range of  RMB61.20-69/kg while those of imported products decreased to RMB71/kg.

With the outlook of China's economy bleak, sales of tryptophan are unlikely to improve in the near term. Tryptophan producers are expected to keep prices low in efforts to close deals.
