Brazil's chicken exports rise 20 percent
Brazil's first-quarter chicken exports were worth US$685 million or 20.34 percent higher than the same period for last year, according to the Brazilian Chicken Exporters and Producers Association. Total shipping volume was 635,000 tonnes.
For March, the average export price rose 9 percent to $1,100/tonne compared with last December.
Russia has ended its embargo on Brazilian meat, and that was reflected in the higher revenues this quarter.
