China's Q1 meat output rise 3.9% 

China produced 22.27 million tonnes of pork, beef, mutton and poultry in the first quarter of 2012, an on-year growth of 3.9%, stated the National Bureau of Statistics of China on April 13.

Of the total output 15.11 million tonnes were pork, up 4% on-year.

In the first quarter the country's live pig inventory reached 455.57 million, up 3.9% on-year. Meanwhile, it had 199.89 million live pigs on sale, up 3.6% on-year.
