Vietnam's DPM to supply 390,000 tonnes urea fertiliser in Q2
The state media reported that in the second quarter of this year, 390,000 tonnes of urea fertiliser for local market will be supplied by PetroVietnamFertiliser and Chemical Corp. (DPM) of the state-run Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.
Of the amount, DPM will provide 230,000 tonnes for the Mekong Delta region, said DPM's Deputy General Director Nguyen Hong Vinh.
The amount will meet the local demand, said Vinh.
In the first quarter, DPM provided 305,000 tonnes of urea fertiliser, up 102,000 tonnes on year.
Meanwhile, Vietnam's demand of fertilisers is forecast at 9.9 million tonnes in 2012. The country produces 7.25 million tonnes and it has to import the remaining 2.65 million tonnes of potassium, SA and NPK for local consumption.
With urea fertiliser plants in Ca Mau, Ninh Binh, Bac Ninh, Vietnam will have surplus of about 560,000 tonnes of urea for export in 2012.
