Ukraine's Apr 1 grain stocks down 5 percent on-year
 

Ukraine's grain stocks on Apr 1 totalled 7.8 million tonnes, 5 percent lower than on the year-earlier date, the state statistics committee reported Tuesday.

Wheat stocks totalled 4 million tonnes, which is 1 percent less than on April 1, 2006.

Ukraine's grain harvest in 2006 fell by 9.9 percent, compared with 2005, to 34.3 million tonnes in clean weight.
