Russia distributes beef and pork import quotas
 

The Russian Economic Development and Trade Ministry has distributed quotas for pork and beef imports in 2008.

The US receives a frozen beef quota of 18,300 tonnes while the EU receives 351,600 tonnes. Another 75,100 tonnes are distributed to other countries, and 388 companies will share the total import quota.

Overall pork import quota amounts to 493,500 tonnes, with the EU receiving slightly more than half of it at 249,300 tonnes. The US receives 49,800 tonnes of pork quota, while another 194,400 tonnes would be distributed to other countries.
