Ukraine: Feed barley prices on the rise, corn prices remain stable
High demand and decrease of offers for feed barley due to domestic stocks exhaustion cause price increasing in Ukraine.
According to APK-Inform, export-oriented companies continue its purchasing prices in conditions of high competition. Depending on accumulated grain stocks and terms of fulfilment of engagements, exporters announce feed barley purchasing prices within the range of 800 to 1020 Ukraine Hryvnia (UAH) per tonne. Purchasing prices of millers are at 770 to 850 UAH per tonne.
At the same time, prices for Ukrainian feed corn remain stable now. Prices in offers on purchase of corn are at 900 to 970 UAH per tonne (CPT-port).
Domestic consumers buy grain at 850 to 970 UAH per tonne taking into account delivery to the enterprise.
According to customs data, barley export totalled from 3.8 million tonnes from Ukraine from the beginning of the current marketing year (July 2006-March 2007). At that on March 594.000 tonnes of wheat were exported from the country.
APK-Inform estimates barley export at 4.8 million tonnes in the current season.

APK-Inform forecasts corn export volume at 1.2 million tonnes level in the current season.
