South Korea To Open Corn Plantation In Indonesia


A South Korean company will open a corn plantation on 25,000 hectares in South Bangka, Bangka-Belitung Island Province, Indonesia.
 
In the initial stage, the corn plantation will cover 200 ha of land, which will be gradually expanded to eventually reach 25,000 hectares in different locations, said sub-district chief of Toboali, South Bangka regency, Julpian in Toboali on Tuesday on the sidelines of a grand rice harvest by governor of Bangka-Belitung Island Province Hudarni Rani.
 
He said the land reclamation will be started early in May 2004 by the South Korean invesotr, PT Korea Product TPT Consultant.
