China to subsidize scaled pig, chicken breeding farms

China's government has recently pledged support through subsidies for the creation of scaled pig and chicken breeding farms, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said.

The pig multiplication farms and breeder chicken farms will receive around RMB1 million (US$142, 836) each, according to their scale.

The subsidies are seen to run in favor of southern China, which has just suffered from disastrous winter weather earlier this year.
