Russia's state-owned United Grain Company has concluded a number of agreements with agricultural companies aimed at increasing Russia's grain exports.
Specifically, the company has signed an agreement with Ust-Luga Company to consider building a grain terminal in the Leningrad Region. Similar agreements were also signed with Estonia's Port of Sillamae and Kaliningrad-based Sodruzhestvo Soya.
The United Grain Company also concluded a three-party memorandum of understanding with Rusagrotrans, which specialises in the shipment of grain by rail, and Russian holding Basic Element for the construction of a grain terminal at the port of Vanino in Russia's Far East. The company is also now preparing to sign an agreement on building a similar terminal near the city of Vladivostok.
In addition, the United Grain Company signed an agreement of intent with agricultural holding Efko to jointly build a grain terminal on the Taman Peninsula.
The United Grain Company is the government's agent for grain purchases aimed at supporting domestic producers.
