Ukraine's April 1 grain stocks down on-year, wheat stocks up
Ukraine's grain stocks totalled 8.19 million tonnes on Apr 1, which is 610,000 tonnes lower on the year, the State Statistics Committee says.
The wheat stocks in the country as of Apr 1 were higher on the year, totalling 4.04 million tonnes, compared with 3.63 million tonnes.
Ukraine's monthly domestic wheat requirement is 300,000 tonnes.
Ukraine's grain harvest in 2005 was 38 million tonnes, including corn, in clean weight, 9.1 percent less than in 2004.
Grain exports in the current marketing year are forecast by the Agriculture Ministry to be 11-12 million tonnes.
