Italy reports third case of mad cow disease this year

Italy reported on Tuesday its third case of mad cow disease this year despite all animals over 24 months old having to undergo tests for the disease.

Italy remains one of many European countries where the disease is in decline thanks to effective controls. The authorities conducted some 2.5 million tests for the disease in the last two years.
