Northern Vietnam reports recurrence of blue ear disease
Blue ear disease resurfaces in Vietnam as 91 pigs were found infected with the disease in the northern province of Hai Duong, according to the Department of Animal Health under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on Monday (Apr 12).
Meanwhile, about 1,090 pigs are currently reported to have the disease in another northern province of Thai Binh.
Earlier, 21 pigs were found infected with blue ear disease in Vietnam's northern province of Thai Nguyen on April 3. The pigs were all destroyed.
Currently, health officials in affected provinces are taking appropriate measures to prevent the spread of the disease, the ministry said.
