China's Jiangsu Yurun Group sets up new meat plant in Guizhou province

Jiangsu Yurun Group's signing of an agreement with Guiyang's Huaxi District government on April 4 marked the launching of the group's project in Guizhou province's Huaxi district. 

Yurun Group's Huaxi project would take 15 months to complete, with investments totaling RMB 350 million to RMB 400 million. On completion, it would be able to slaughter 2 million live hogs yearly and process 10,000 tonnes for 5 provinces in south-western China.

Jiangsu's Yurun Food Group is one of the top 500 companies in China. Yurun Group is an integrator whose primary business is meat processing, along with live hog rearing, slaughtering and processing. 

As of the end in 2005, the firm had a market capitalization of RMB 6.55 billion (US$850 million).
