US suspends cattle trade with Mexico
The US Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has halted cattle trade from the Mexican state of Coahuila because of animal health regulation irregularities.
All imports of cattle from the state would be suspended from 17 April following problems over non-compliance of cattle movements in the state and a failure in reaching a resolution to the deficiencies.
This suspension would remain in force until APHIS has determined the state of Coahuila is complying with tuberculosis programme guidelines.
